ReadMe file for !Columns
1.0 Introduction
################
The purpose of this program is to allow the user to create a text file of
two columns from text file of a single column. The text file created may
then be edited further (using !Edit or similar) or printed to a printer.
Options to define the page layout for a printer are available.
2.0 The Program
###############
The program installs on the icon bar in the normal way, by double clicking
on the icon from the filer window. From the icon bar the following menu is
obtained by clicing menu over the icon:
Info The current version number and date
Options Page layout options
Quit Quit the program!
Selecting Options will create a dialogue box giving control over the layout
of the page to be created. Left & right, top & bottom margins, page size
(ie width and height) can be set. The default options are for A4 paper.
The sprites allow selection of the type of action to take for part pages.
This allows the left column to be a full page length or for the two columns
to be of equal length. Clicking MENU will bring up a menu showing other
pages available. These may be selected as an alternative to the default.
Clicking on the save icon allows any changes and/or new pages that have
been added to be saved. The A4 page is always the default.
Click on the OK icon to add any changes - Click on the CANCEL icon to
return to the default settings.
The file to be processed should be dragged onto the icon bar. This opens a
window showing the modified file, as defined by the options dialogue box.
The file may be viewed using the scroll bar, arrow keys and page up/page
down keys. Clicking menu in this window will allow the new file to be saved.
A default name and path is offered.
3.0 Limitations
###############
(i) Only one file may be opened/processed at at time.
(ii) Need a CR and end of source file.
(iii) Only two columns currently available.
